The Hackworth Model Railway Group

The inspiration for Hackworth came about many years ago when a group of individuals all working in the same industry discovered their common interest in railways. Years passed with comments like ‘wouldn’t it be nice’ or ‘if we could’ or ‘one day’, well that day arrived in 2016. Due to the advances in laser-cutting it become possible to construct sections of the layout in different locations and bring them all together when required for exhibitions. Plans were put in place and sections of the layout constructed. Surprisingly it all came together and worked with a huge sigh of relief just before our first outing.
We do not pretend that everything went smoothly, we had a few false starts, and several redesigns but we eventually ended up with a working layout. If you want to share your experiences with us or ask our advice, please get in touch.
